Ask Us
What about methadone & heroin treatment?
Many
people who are addicted to heroin have spent years dependent on
the substance and do not feel that the solution is to substitute
methadone & heroin. Although Heroin
Drug Treatment can make medical referrals to include substances
like buprenorphine as part of treatment if necessary, the core of
our heroin treatments are changing the behaviors and thinking patterns
of our clients so that substances will never again be a solution
for dealing with life.
What can I expect from heroin withdrawal?
Anybody
who has used heroin over a regular period knows that the body quickly
adapts to the drug and that when stopped, heroin withdrawal symptoms
begin. Heroin withdrawal is a physical
condition that includes restlessness, bone pain, constipation and
diarrhea, vomiting and chills. It has been described as the worst
flu you could ever experience and it is no wonder why so many people
continue to use heroin despite the destruction it causes. Heroin
treatments release our clients from this trap.
Must I take a break from my life to go into a
treatment facility?
It can be a tough decision to take a break from
work, family, or just the regular patterns to spend every waking
hour in Heroin Drug Treatment but study after study proves that
intense full time treatment is the most effective.
Breaking through the denial that the heroin user
believes that he can control heroin and quit on his terms is part
of the process. Of course no one wants to believe that they are
out of control and leaving the home or office for awhile only confirms
this fact. Hopefully the heroin user realizes that addiction damages
work, family and friend relationships and avoiding treatment only
puts these relationships at greater risk.
What happens after treatment?
Successful
treatment is an ongoing process. As a client of Heroin Drug Treatment
you will have many of our resources at your disposal as needed but
the goal is to return home with a new attitude and perspective on
life. Strong social support through 12-step programs that continue
to offer structure when life delivers its ups and downs is critical
after intense treatment. The foundation you will receive at Heroin
Drug Treatment will give you the tools to respond and react in a
constructive way even when times get tough.
